After training in different fields, I realised that what really excited me was food and being hands on in the kitchen. I did a number of short cookery courses and workshops, but wanted something more. I was so excited when I saw that CNM had launched its natural chef course as it was exactly what I had been searching for. It provides all the technical skills required for a working kitchen, whilst emphasis is placed on a very balanced approach to healthy eating from a naturopathic perspective. So despite the complications of at the time being based in Swansea and the course being in London, I enrolled and loved every minute of the training. From building new friendships with colleagues who were equally passionate about real food, to being hands on in the kitchen, learning the tricks of the trade and putting everything we learn into practice for my internship. My husband and I have just moved back to South Africa and we are scouting for the right location to set up our organic café. I feel there is huge potential for what we’ll be offering.
